MariaDB
is supported as the main BGERP data storage.
The previously required MySQL 8.0 can be used without restrictions, for those wishing to migrate to MariaDB,
the
migration script has been included in the system.
31.03.2025
Ongoing work is being carried out to support MariaDB as the database server for our Product. Since MySQL was initially chosen, its community-driven
alternative has implemented the full-text search used in BGERP. In addition, new versions of Oracle's DBMS have been prone to memory leaks,
and the widely used SQL query modifier in our system, SQL_CALC_FOUND_ROWS, has been
announced for planned removal.
Additional advantages of MariaDB include the availability of the free
mariabackup utility for live backups
and the ability to use a unified data storage system jointly with
BGBilling.
